Hong Kong Intercities Touch Tournament
sucha gooood trip. but very short-lived coz of school.
went up on fri night, and i was back on Sunday night.
its been long since i've had a good touch tournament overseas. i rmbr my first overseas touch tournament at Bangkok for Asian champs with Pirates...though we didnt win, we played well athough we lost in the semis. good memories.
Monsoon won the Mixed Cup and Plate Champions, and the Men's Runner-ups. (teams: Monsoon Raiders, Awesome and Dragons, respectively)
for the record, for ALL 3 semis for us, it was SUDDEN DEATH SITUATION can. but because Monsoon will rise above the waves, we made it through.
i play in Monsoon Awesome, and really, it was the most Awesome we've ever played. we won because we managed to pull things together even though we did stumbled along the way. i mean if it was likka easy win, it wouldn't be that shiok and satisfying. my most memorable was during the semi-finals. final whistle blown and it was a tie. so sudden death. i was surprised to be called out to play as one of the 5s. on the first attack, we rucked up on my opposite side. and by the 4th touch, lewis had the ball and ran out to the link-wing gap and all i did was stay out wide. and as the opponents were off-side, he dived and scored right at their feet. and with that, we were UP. then the opponents had 1 set of 6 touches to get back. but after 5 touches, the pressure made them loose the possession. and so, we won!!!!!

finals was nail biting.
up down up down. and finally, up by 1. final score was 4-3.
and i think i did well.
its really been quite awhile that i threw out all i've got on the field. i mean, i do that for all my games and leagues, but this time, it was a tad more extraordinary and special because my teammates around me were on the same page, with a common goal.
so yea. we were awesome.
(:
yep. court session at Chris' room at metropark wan chai.
hahas.
so much rubbish. but ): that there wasnt much time to tekan everyone else.
and so. onward Hong Kong!!
when ruby, sari and i landed, it was rainnninggg. was amazed at how the plane could land. i mean i know it can, but still amazed when i visually see it operating.
in my mind, it was like all the aviation nav lingos like ADF, VHF, TCAS, MBS and so on. hahahs.
took vids of how the ailerons, flaps and speed brakes worked. (:
getting screened by the AvSOs were also a different feeling altogether. i'm usually the one screening people. and to be screened, it felt out of the norm. ahahhhas.
but yea, i was secretly scrutinizing the procedures and way things were being handled.
much improvements from the last time since now they have like and additional service staff to facilitate the flow.
anyway. reached hk.
cold.
unexpectedly cold. it's supposed to be summer, but the temp was 19 deg. its my 3rd time in hk for this tournament and it was always hot. the first time was so so so hot. 2nd time was hot, but it rainned. and this yr, so cooold! felt like the nov-entering winter period.
awesome dinner at this hotpot place just opposite the apartment we stay..
GAME DAY at King's Park.

(this photo taken by my hk rugby friend! )
not bhb, but i think its well deserved!
(: every single team member playing not or not playing had a blast.
hhahas. and so, it was already DAY 3. le sigh.
the annual team dim sum!
NEW FAV FOOD. forgot what its called, but sooooo nice.
last sprint before i head back to sg.
went to get the legendary sotongs from Sai Yeung Choi street.
1 yr craving finally satisfied.
and then, it was 3.30pm and i left for my own little adventure following a long list of stuff to get.
after getting my polaroids from Wing Shing, went back to get my stuff first.
drank some herbal tea first.
got the uncle to take photo of me. and i somehow managed to converse with him in Canton. idk how i did it, but i probably sounded very convincingly right. hahahahs.
and then from Wai Ching st, it was to the Central to get TaiZheong egg tarts.
then to Tung Chung. by then it was like 6.30pm hahas. went to all my fav shops. nike, adidas, timberland, columbia and the supermarket. got alot of food from the supermarket and 1 nike bag thats on 70% offer. hahas.
see. i pre-empted and brought an empty tupperware just for the eggtarts. ahahas.
steady pom pee pee.

and then a 15mins S1 bus ride and reached airport at 8pm, only to be pangseh-ed by CQ who extended his stay last min. HAHAHS.
nonetheless, i felt so accomplished and likka pro, knowing HK so well. probably more than i know about Singapore's Punggol roads.
and reached home at 3am.
only to have reality slap back in my face that there's sch in 5 hours time.
(:
so much more things i wanted to doooooo.
but i guess with just 2.5 days, i totally maximised it.
yea, and the night i reached home, was the night my 2 good adventure khakis went up to HK. 6am.
haizzz.
and and, my group of girlfriends went to phuket...........
BUT. I HAD A GREAT TOURNAMENT with my teammates and that's all that matter.
